Welcome !
My name is Dr. Brianna Allen (she/her), and I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist serving residents of Florida and North Carolina. I am passionate about serving the communities that I work with, and I specialize in helping children, adolescents, and adults who struggle with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and related disorders (e.g., trichotillomania/hair-pulling, excoriation/skin-picking), anxiety disorders, depression, tics and Tourette Disorder, and phase of life issues. I also specialize in working with LGBTQ+ populations and college students, and I support individuals in developing coping skills to manage stressors.
I value a trusting and collaborative relationship, as I view the therapeutic relationship as an essential component of therapy. I approach each session from a place of warmth and appreciation for your lived experience. I strive to deliver multiculturally competent services, and my practice is LGBTQ+ affirming.
Change is Possible
Difficult experiences can impact people in different ways. Whether you are feeling stuck, unmotivated, disconnected, or hesitant as you approach a major life transition, know that change is possible. I incorporate evidence-based treatment approaches grounded in multicultural psychotherapy that allows for a collaborative, working relationship focused on helping you to achieve your goals. I utilize Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Habit Reversal Training (HRT) to develop individualized treatment approaches that work best for you. I also incorporate mindfulness and feminist therapy practices into my work with clients.
My Clinical Training and Experience
I earned my Master of Arts (MA) in Clinical Psychology from the University of Hartford, and my Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from Georgia Southern University. I completed my pre-doctoral internship in Health Service Psychology at Florida Atlantic University Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), and my post-doctoral fellowship training at the Jacob Center for Evidence-Based Treatment. Throughout my clinical training, I have provided services to individuals, groups, and families in a variety of healthcare settings, and to diverse individuals across the lifespan. I have also had the privilege of collaborating on multidisciplinary teams, and this has continued to allow me to improve my clinical knowledge and skills, which further supports the clients that I serve.
