FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

All the Answers You Seek, In One Place

Why should I work with you?

In addition to my extensive training experience, I value a collaborative working relationship that prioritizes your therapeutic goals, treatment needs, and overall well-being. My approach to treatment is warm and empathetic, and I am dedicated to creating a safe and non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. In our therapeutic journey, you can expect a client-centered approach, where your input and preferences guide our work. Your progress and comfort are my top priorities. I genuinely believe in the potential for positive outcomes in therapy, and I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.

What can I expect during our first session?

Our first session will typically last 75 minutes, though it is possible that information may need to be gathered across multiple sessions to ensure an accurate assessment. During the first session, I will review informed consent, confidentiality, expectations for treatment, general policies and procedures, healthcare history, current presenting concerns, and therapeutic goals. We will also discuss ongoing scheduling.

How does therapy work and how long will it take?

Therapy is a highly individualized process, and treatment duration can vary from person to person. Factors that may impact treatment length include symptom severity, comorbid concerns that present, and meeting frequency. Therapy is a flexible process, and I am intentional in how I approach therapy with clients. I am collaborative, and I encourage your input so that we can regularly assess your progress and adjust the treatment plan to fit your goals.

Do you accept insurance?

I currently accept Aetna, United Healthcare, Oscar, and Out-Of-Network plans. I can provide you with a superbill that is submitted to an insurance provider for reimbursement. To determine if you have mental healthcare coverage through your insurance provider, you should contact them by calling the phone number on the back of your health insurance card. It is important that you speak directly with your insurance provider, and that you are aware of your mental healthcare coverage.

What questions should I ask my insurance provider?

Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?

Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?

Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?

Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?

What is the process for reimbursement and what is the information I need to obtain from my therapist?

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

I understand that things come up and you may not always be available for your scheduled appointment. Please be aware that you must provide at least 24 hours advance notice if you need to cancel a session. If a session is canceled less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled time, you will be charged the full fee for the session.
